Anime: Nyanpire

Today I'm going to tell you about a very short series called Nyanpire!
Nyanpire got only 12 episodes, and each episode last for about 4 and a half minute.

The name Nyanpire is taken from the word Nyan and Vampire, which basically means a cat-vampire. The whole thing starts with a poor cat whom is so hungry that it nearly dies. A Vampire gives the cat some of his blood, when he does that the cat turns into a vampire cat :D

Throughout the anime, Nyanpire meets and gets new friends. It only took me under 1 hour to finish this.

This anime was made the summer of 2011, so it's a pretty new series.
Because I love cats and the super cute voice of Nyanpire I'll give this a 5/6

The ending song show some random Japanese maids dancing and singing... kinda weird.. Better if they actually made something with the cats from the series x)

Anime: Naruto!

I guess that most otaku's, either they are hardcore-fans or have just gotten interested in anime, manga and that sort of thing know about Naruto.
The reason for this is of course that Naruto has one of the longest stories together with Bleach and one piece.

For those who despite this, doesn't know much of Naruto, i'm going to try to simplify the story (ofc without too many spoilers x) )

First of all, the main city where the story is taking place: Konoha, who is the "hidden leaf village". The world in Naruto is parted up in different villages such as Konoha, or the hidden sand, water and so on... not very important right now xD

Here is a map that would explain it a bit easier:

Konoha is the village in the middle

The story begins with a monster appearing in the village, this monster goes by the name "Demon Fox" or "Nine-tails". The Nine-tails started to attack the village and many people died. To save the rest of the village the Hokage* seals the monster inside of a little newborn boy.

This is when the sealing takes place

Hokage is the highest rank in the city, the leader of the village.

The 4th Hokage with the 1th the 3th and the 2th

The little baby was who this series is named after: Naruto Usumaki. To make a long story short. The Naruto series is about Naruto's life and his dream to become a well known ninja and a Hokage. We follow him from the age of 10-12 ( I think >.<), when he first start at the academy to learn how to become a ninja. This is also the place where he meets Sasuke Uchiha, who is the strongest boy on this age (At least he is allways the best on tests and such) and Sakura Haruno. Soon this three get on the same team, team 7 with their captain Hatake Kakashi

This is an ongoing series witch at this moment:

The anime got: 220 (first season) + 233 (2th sesong, the shippuden) = 453 Episodes
Movies: 14.
Manga: 56 Volums/Books  or 560 chapters

Game: Osu!

Wow I can't believe that I haven't written about this game before O.o

It's quite the simple game really. It's a music game, where you follow the rhythm. The game is divided in three, one main-game and two others. First of all it's a free game. To start the game you have to download it from here, and download beatmaps (songs) manually. The music genres are mostly techno, anime music or music from games. It's a time limit when you are downloading the songs, so that the server won't explode, it depends from 4 or 5 songs in a short time. When you reach the time limit you have to wait 500 seconds before downloading anymore.

When you start the game, this is what you will see:

You will now get a popup whitch want you to log in, of course you can play in offline mode, but then again, your scores will not be saved, and it will only take a few minutes to make a user

The first main game is called "osu! Standard" and can be found under the first button "PLAY" this is how the game would look like when you play (random song)

As you see, the score is shown in the upper right side.
Now to the playing: You can see the crazy cat faces right? That's a slider, the same as the orange one.
The thing is that you have to use your mouse to click and drag it as the slider shows, so in short words, this is a clicking game that follows the music. The single circles are the same, only that you don't have to follow a path :)

Usually a game has the difficulity: Easy, normal, hard and insane.
This type of game is kind of hard, and you should set up your mouse sensitivity to be able to play it (can be found in options)
Important key: z and x, witch are mainly the same as clicking down the mouse button but lot simpler to use when there are alot of circles to click on
Anyway, over to the game-form I play: Catch the beat! :D (Can be found under "special")
This time you use the keyboard to play, (arrows). As you see, it fall fruits down from the screen that you must catch. This is a much simpler game than the Osu! Standard-game, but still a lot of fun.
Important key: The shift-button, Gives you extra speed

The last game is the Japanese Taiko-drum!
Witch looks like this:
This time you only use the letters, zxcv, where z nad v are the blue and x and c are the red ones
Personally I don't like this kind of game, it's really too difficult, at least if you try it on hard or even normal

This is at least some kind of review of this game =)
It's all for free, no extra payment or anything at all, the only time you can spend money on osu is if you are donating money
By donating money you can download dirrectly from the game and doesn't have to go through the webpage, but other than this, it's nothing special from being a supporter or not

Anime: Gantz

Ah, long time since I updated my blog, and the Japan pictures are up on facebook. Maybe I'll add them up next month or next year...But today's blog is about an anime I have seen recently called GANTZ

Gantz is a anime about mainly two boys Kei and Katou, who had been childhood friends but when one of them moved away, their friendship also ended. They meet again on the subway were a drunk and really fat guy had fallen down on the railway. Katou is a person who don't want anyone to be hurt or die so he jumps down and tries to pull the drunk man up, but he is too heavy, at this point Katou recognize Kei and he is kind of forced to go down and help him. It all ends with that the drunk guy is pulled up from the railway but Kei and Katou is trying to run away from the train that comes closer and closer. Unfortunately the train is a express train and won't stop on this station. The two boys are getting killed by the train... THE END : D

No. J/K or they did get driven over by the train but, that was also the start of their life as a piece in a sick alien-hunting game, with their life on the line.
Personally GONZO (The studio that had made this) made a really good anime..if you like lots of killings and blood. They have some scenes that could be a little too much and too disgusting but this is an anime that can make you some kind of addicted since you want to know what would happen later on

It's not a very long anime, although it has 26 eps which is about 8 hours (:
But I guess I have to warn you guys about that this is a ecchi rated anime, who has I think 17 legal age , but ofc that is understandable.

Full blogpost from my Japan trip!

Finally, It’s time for me to post a full blog-post from my Japan trip this summer.
First of all, we took the plane from Norway to Japan with one stop in Vienna.
I think the whole plane-trip took about
1-3 hours to Vienna
4 hours waiting in Vienna
about 10-12 hours to Japan

We flew with an Austrian airplane, which had very crowded seats, with like no place at all for your legs, but the food is much better than on other planes that I have taken. + Every seat got their own TV, with our own remote which could be used to play games or switch into different movies.
To land in another city is always a new experience, at least now, when the place we got to suck in English. The first thing we did was of course to grab our bags and stuff, luckily the airport in Japan was very easy to navigate in. After we got our bags and suitcases we searched for a place to buy train tickets.
The airport is about 1 hour outside of Tokyo by train, so to get to Tokyo we had to first find someone who sold a train-card called NARITA and SUICA-card
This is one of the most handy thing you can buy when you are going to Japan
The Narita-card is only for the train to Tokyo and back, but the SUICA card is a card you fill with money and is used in the Metro stations, which is the easiest way to travel across Tokyo. It can also be used outside of Tokyo, for nearly the same price as in Tokyo.

It is possible to travel to Japan without knowing much Japanese, but it’s rather difficult, since even though the country has been able to give out more English class in school, most people still….suck xD
From the train-station to your hotel you’ll go by taxi. There are always a lot of taxi-drivers waiting outside the station so no worries here, BUT(!) you should get the name of your hotel written down with Japanese letters, so that the taxi-driver easily can understand where you want to go. We had a little trouble with this when we was supposed to explain it to a guy with no-English knowledge at all

I really recommend the hotel we stayed on, it’s in Hanzomon, Chiyoda district and the hotel is called “Grand Arc Hanzomon”. The reason for this is that, Hanzomon is in the middle of Tokyo, it’s a quiet and peaceful place and there are not many tourists here. From the hotel you only need to walk 200-300 meters to come to a little shop where they sell kinda everything you need like:
Breakfast boxes, like pasta, noodles, salads, ricecakes (Onigiri), a lot of different drinks, all of these boxes are ready to eat, only need to heat the food up, which the guys in the cashier can do for you.
You’ll also find candy, magazines, newspapers, soap, and all kinds of things you’ll need

A thing that is special for Hanzomon is the large park which is the Imperial Palace. This is the main residence of the Emperor of Japan. The area is surrounded with water, and it’s possible to walk around the whole place, just following the road. That’s why this is often used as a jogging route for the Japanese people, even though it’s over 30-40*C in the shadow these Japanese still go out and exercise.
It also have a sport and concert hall called Nippon Budokan. This hall is famous for having many well-known musicians from Europe or America playing in this hall.
Fun fact: The Beatles made their Japanese debut in this hall.

But let’s go over to the hotel rooms. The hotel is kind of an expensive hotel but I really liked it there. You can chose between a normal European room, with normal beds and such, or you can experience the traditional Japanese rooms with futons (basically means bed that is directly on the floor, with only a thin madras to sleep on). This is a really special way to get some sleep, but this is not recommended to people that have any problems with their back, because as I mentioned, it’s not much between you and the floor. The rest of the room consists of a television, a low table with chairs, still on ground level, and a bathroom. The funny thing about the bathrooms in Japan is their toilets, without saying much about it, take a look at this picture instead. (INSET PICTURE HERE)

The first place we actually visited other than the Hanzomon area around the hotel, was a place called Ropponghi. This, as I understood it, is a party place, where often young people hang out, go to karaoke’s and lots of clubs, bars and love-hotels. You should probably avoid being here at nighttime. It could get pretty rough when people have had enough to drink and become violent. At day or evening this is a pretty cool place to have seen. All around you, you can see the neon lights that are shining and really shows how nightlife is supposed to be.

To read more about this place visit:
http://www.roadjunky.com/article/587/ropponghi-japan-nightlife

The next day we took the metro to Akihabara! This is supposed to be heaven for any otaku’s around in Tokyo. There are lots of shops that sell manga figures and figurines from all kinds of series. The whole shop is filled with shelves stuffed with different kinds of figures. You can also find a lot of different electronics, from mobiles to computer to other small weird and fancy stuff. But since you’ll be travelling by the metro, you will notice that when you get of the train, you see different kinds of exits often marked from A-F, depending on where in the district you want to go.
Unfortunately, I don’t remember which exit would who led to where. But it’s not much of a big deal really. The streets are big and easy to find your way, even though it’s only a little part of Akihabara that specialize in for example Otaku stuff.

Ginza is another district in Tokyo. The moment you reach the top of the stairs when you go out of the metro, you will notice the huge difference compared to other parts of Tokyo. Suddenly the streets are even bigger, the buildings high and good looking. You have now reached the most expensive area in Tokyo. All the fashion shops lie in this district. Too bad that the Japanese people are so small, if you are an average American or European, it would give you a hard task to find something that fits your size. Everything is between XS and S size, sometimes the clothes is even smaller, XXXS or something >.>. Despite this, it’s a wonderful place to just look around. Even if the clothes are not fitting you, it’s still fun to look at (if you aren’t a boy though xD, that would be different)

Harajuku. This district is associated with young people dressing up in clothes people normally wouldn’t dress up in, in other places in Tokyo. There is one special street called Takeashita street, that are the main subculture street in Harajuku. The place is packed with special clothes like goth or the typical sweet-style + many random stores that sell accessories, socks, shoes or so on. I would add a notice that this street gets easily crowded. We were here on a Sunday. The metro stopped at Harajuku around 11 o’clock, so we had plenty of time here. When we first got there, the street was nice and we had large enough room to move around without hitting too many people, but as the time goes by, more and more people come here. In the end, it was nearly impossible cross over to get to the stores on the other side of where you were, because of the stream of people.

Another special place in Harajuku is the Jingu Bridge, which is simply a bridge connecting Harajuku neighboring Meiji Shrine area. Many cosplayers and people dressing up in all kinds of different clothes are gathering on this bridge to hang out with others who share the same interest. Unfortunately there was no one on the bridge when we got there. It could have been the weather that kept people away this day, since it was dark grey clouds hanging over the city.

But, the weather did get better throughout the day, and we found a large park, only few minutes away from the bridge. We learnt that this was a park for people to get away from the city-life and just enjoy playing games, instruments or just have a nice picnic. But there was something else that caught over attention. There were people dancing right in front of the park. The Rockabilly’s of Harajuku park! I think that there were 3 or 4 groups, each with their own music and their own speakers dancing to old rock music. It was quite fun to watch really.
Other types of dances you could see were some youngsters doing breakdance; others were dancing to some kind of anime music.

One of the most special attractions in Tokyo is of course the Tokyo Tower. The Tokyo Tower is to be found in the Minato district, and the building itself is over 300 meters with an antenna on top, which sends out signals for TV and radio.
The tower is parted up in two floors; one on 150m over ground level and the second is on 250m over ground level. It’s really nice to be able to stand on the top just looking down at Tokyo’s streets and buildings. You’ll get a pretty nice view, if you pick a day without fog…as we didn’t. Of cause we did see a lot and stuff, but it is said to be possible to see the Mount Fuji to the south on a clear day, which we didn’t see.

Picture of Tokyo Tower,

One day, we went out to a city outside of Tokyo, (INSET NAME HERE).
We went here because my dad was going to meet up with a guy who sold CD’s and LP’s.

The place was not much different from Tokyo; they had the same kinds of shopping centers.
As always, each shopping center had food in the basement and clothes and other stuff in the other floors.
A little more about the basement floor;

In the basement you can find food that are prepared at the moment, like meat and fish and actually most "fast food" and by that I mean Japanese fast food of course, like sushi, meat and fish prepared in a Japanese style. They also have a “normal” food shop, where you can get mostly the same as from a local food shop
In the basement you will usually find a shop where they sell "normal" shop food, food you can get from your local shop and stuff. The best but most annoying things about the basement are the cake shops. You can buy the most fantastic cakes, for not much money. But there are no places to sit and if you take the cake outside, the cream would melt in the because of the hot weather.

My dad asked the guy he bought the records of, if he knew any places who sold manga figures and he told us of a place on the way back to Tokyo. The place is called (INSET NAME HERE). The place had a special street where they sold many souvenir things or ordinary stuff, but the thing I looked for was of course the figurines. The shopping street was combined with small shops and stairs up to an arcade shop. This was the place I had been looking for. By walking down the hall in the arcade, I could find 5-6 big figure shop, which was far more than I had found in Akihabara, at least there was more shops so close to each other than other places.

Shinyuku is known for housing the busiest train station in the world. All the main points go through Shinyuku. There were soo many people here, but again, it wasn’t that hard to find the right station-lines and exits, because of all the signs telling you where to go. Mostly we kept inside some malls because of the hot weather outside. Mostly there were clothing stores on the first 4-5 floors (the buildings are usually very tall), the next floor you could nearly allways find a bookshop. The bookshops had all kinds of books, from literature to extra school books and all kinds’ books and magazines.

~

The next place on the list was Asakusa district. The most famous place to visit when you are in Asakusa is a Buddhist temple called Sensō-ji. The place is easy to find because of a really big red entrance, and the typical temple-roofs. If you visit this place on a hot and sunny day, remember to buy something to drink before entering the Temple-place. The first thing you’ll meet when you go throw the gate is a large shopping gate, with all kinds of souvenirs and such. Might be a little bit more expensive here, because it’s a tourist place, but they sell so much cool stuff here.
The buildings here are really beautiful, you’ll get a feeling of peace when you finally reach the end of the shopping street and are entering the main Temple place. The details of the buildings are extraordinary; even if you are not interested in Temples at all you’ll really miss something if you decide not to go there.

There are some restaurants in this area around the temple too, but(!) they are usually very small, and few can talk much English, even if this is a tourist place, but don’t worry, the Japanese people are very happy to help and they try as best as they can to understand what you want to order.

From the same district it’s also possible to take a bout ride on the Tokyo River. You’ll pay for the bout-ride down at the bay in Asakusa. Here you can chose where you want to go of the bout. We chose the longest ride, to a place called Odaiba. I didn’t know that it exist a place like this in Tokyo. The first think you see when you’re closing in on Odaiba is the beach. There is actually a beach in Tokyo, but people are not allowed to bath and swim in the water. The place is really something in the evening, when the sun is nearly gone. It’s like a paradise, with the white sand and some palm-like plants and a sunset in the background painting the sky in a red-violet and yellow color. Amazing.
Yokohama is a city outside Tokyo which takes about 30 min with the express train or 50 min with the normal train. Yokohama is known for having one of Japan’s largest buildings and on a sunny day it’s possible to see Mount Fuji, just like in Tokyo Tower. We were actually supposed to go up and take a look, but we are always unlucky with the weather, and it would be meaningless to throw away money on something like that.
But we did visit a little shopping here. They had a whole shop filled with only stuffs from the Studio Ghibli movies. Big Totoro plushies, key rings, chopsticks, towels and a lot more. They even got a Pokémon shop, where they had over 100 different Pokémon sold separately.

Shibuya: A big district, with the biggest street intersection in Tokyo, where all the streets met. It was so cool when the lights for the cars turned red and all the people started to cross the

Ueno is place where they had a big park famous park, where people entertain, sing and dance for money. There were also a big baseball-field, and surprisingly, even with the hot weather, they still played baseball.
In the end I’m just going to recommend a restaurant that I have a picture of and I’ll try to find it on a map…

Zombies

Zombies. What are so great about them? Everyone loves a good zombie movie, especially with lots of blood and stuff. And I can't say that I disagree with these people. Well, in fact I don't really like scary movies but as long as it got zombies in it I think I can handle them,... at least most of them, since after what I experience I haven't found many really scary zombie movies, not that I have actually looked after them though.

But it's not really the movies that I was going to talk about in this post. It's actually more the fact that I thought I could try to look as much as a zombie as possible (You can call it a cosplay if you like)
I'm looking forward to an event in Oslo, that is called, ZOMBIEWALK, meaning everyone dress up as a zombie and ..walk around the main street of Oslo. Sooo yesterday, I randomly took out all I got of make up and started to make "scars" and tried to get more "zombie-color" on my skin and it actually went pretty good, belive it or not.

When I went to school today and showed people my arm (I only did it on my arm, because it was just  a test you know, I can't go around like a zombie on the last day before summer vacation xD)
Anyway, everyone I showed it to was like "omg what have you done?, what have happened to you" xD
I don't know it is any use of taking a picture since it'll be really bad quality and shit but I guess I can try then, but just so you don't go "hell that doesn't look like anything near real" and stuff.

As I said, not really good quality, you can nearly only see the red part.

-Anyway, I'm leaving for Japan tomorrow, soo if I find internett I will blog about the trip here. Enjoy ;3

League of Legends

Today I'm going to tell you a little about this game that have grown popular in a short time. It's called League of Legends as said in the tittle.

This game is a game where each team got their own base, and between the two bases you will see 3 main path's
Bottom, Middle and top. Each path got 4 torrents, 2 on each team. The torrents shot at the first enemy it sees.

Wow.. I suck at explaining but I'll keep going xD

The team can be minimum 1 person (1vs1) and maximum 5 (5vs5). The team got also something called "minions witch is kinda your warriors or "helpers" or whatever that is spawned every 10 seconds or so, (I don't remember x)) They come on a group of 10, usually 1 or 2 of them are a higher lvl like, they can take more damage.

To win the game you have to destroy the enemies main base, called Nexus. When the nexus is destroyed your team win.
At the main base you can buy stuff to make your character better, this part is kind of difficult for new players such as I. The items you buy can help you raise your stats, (better attack, defense attack speed and so on) Some items give you more health or mana, or steal life from the enemy you attack. All this is something you got to learn over time.

The characters you chose got 4 abilities, (that uses mana). At the start you can unlock one of them, and later when you are lvl'ing up you get to chose either a new ability (of the four you got) or upgrade one you already have. The abilities depend on the character you play. Some are close-combat fighters and some are distance-fighters (I think I can call them that xD) who shoot at the enemy instead of hitting them in close-combat....(uh yeah, I hope you understand xD)
Anywaaay. When you defeat a minion you gain a little gold, (usually between 20-40g) which you can spend in the shop.
If you manage to kill another player you gain much more exp-points but no gold (I think, as I have mentioned before, I haven't played much so I don't know all the details)

Around on the map it's different kind of enemies that is there just for you to gain more exp and gold. The monsters got different kind of  difficulty level.

I hope this made you a little more into the game. And I'm sorry for being such a bad explainer xD  but hey, I tried?

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

I saw this film on friday, and I don't know what to say really, I didn't really like it. Of course it was good and all that stuff, but the story was just... not what I expected, they could have done more to make the film even better. and again, don't misunderstand me, as I said, the film wasn't actually bad at any point but I guess that because it's the number 4 in a movie series, that I thought was just going to be a trilogy, it just didn't reach up as the other 3 films did

When all that is said, I'm going to point out that the 3D-effects was really good. I haven't seen a movie with that good 3D-effects before. Usually a film got a little 3D and the rest is normal, but this film got more 3D-effects, and the effects wasn't some crappy ones either.
Since the movie has kind of "slow animation" - as in, the picture screens doesn't change every damn second, (witch can be very annoying with 3D-glasses) it's comfortable to watch and it doesn't make your head dizzy even though the film is on 2 hours

The length on this film, was a little too long after my opinion, and could have been shortened down a little, since at the end ( like the last half an hour) I started to yawn and actually wish for the movie to end.
The action was good some places, but other places I think it was just kind of  long-winded. And one fighting scene was nearly exactly as in the movie when Jack and  Orlando Bloom (don't remember his name in the movie xD) was fighting.

But overall, I think I'll give it a :

NANA

Anyone heard of an anime called NANA? I first read it as an manga for like 4 years ago, I even bought the 4 first volumes. The story is actually really good, but it's a lot of drama in it, too many scenes I find myself crying xD
Anyway I read this manga on a site called www.onemanga.com <-- but this site died a year ago, and the manga never updated itself, maybe they stopped making new chapters or maybe the site just didn't add more, but I ended up forgetting about it

Recently I started to watch it as an anime, it's 47 episodes, it's starting with two girls both share the same name: Nana , by a coincidence they meet and ending up sharing a flat in Tokyo. One of the girl moved to Tokyo just to be close to her boyfriend, the other Nana was searching for new band members and a chance to become famous

Again, this anime got a lot of drama and romance and stuff, but even though, I really like it :3

The music is kinda fail though

Music from the anime, it's the band who's playing the songs that Black stones are..playing? xD

The Most useless machine ever :3

I found this page, called Japanator, where I found a little thing that is really awesome, it's called the Useless machin! : D

It's a machine where, when you turn it on, a piece of wood comes up from the box and shut itself off, seriously, it's a waste of time but I really want it, it could be my only friend : D eheh J/k i got friends : o omg, yes really!: D

This is the machine:

First post!

Hey everyone!

This is my first post here, and I'm going to warn you, I'm not really good in English so I might write a lot of errors and stuff, but just ignore it okay? =^_^=
First of all, even though this is not one of those very personal blogs, I will at least introduce myself a bit:

I'm a 17 years old girl (born in 1993 so turning 18 this year) who lives in Norway, not a very special country. I'm half Chinese so I got both a Norwegian family and a Chinese one, and I really love to be half Asian. I'm currently in my second year of high school and looking forward to be done with it, and start to study what I really want to do, which is computer technology and that kind of stuff

My free times goes usually to watching anime or drawing anime characters and stuff. I'm really interested in Japan and their culture, so I'm trying to lean the language but it's really difficult when I don't have that much time and stuff so yeah, I pick up some words and phrases from all my anime watching xD lol

At the moment I live with my parents and my cute chinchilla boy, that is just called Blacky due to the black fur he has, but he got a lot of nicknames though, not all of them is that friendly 8D

Well that's about it, I guess you guys really don't need to know much more xD you can ask if it is anything you are wondering about, I'm allways open for comments and stuff :3

Enjoy my blog :
